THE FUTURE IS HERE
Ten Across Summit—Jacksonville, Florida
March 5-7, 2025

The southernmost portion of the U.S.—from Los Angeles, California to Jacksonville, Florida—offers a compelling window into what lies ahead for the nation. On the front lines of social, economic, and climate change, the Ten Across (10X) initiative features the three most populous states, the most rapidly growing metro areas, the energy capital of the world, many of the largest North American ports, weather extremes and rapid demographic change.

This is a living laboratory for the future of the country, one that is ideally situated to examine the critical topics of water, energy, infrastructure, equity, and even democracy—all of which are going to be compounded by an increasingly warming climate.

Jacksonville, Florida—A Model for Resilient Growth

Jacksonville, Florida has more that 747 square miles of land—making it the largest city by land mass in the continental United States. It’s also the most populous city proper in the State of Florida and the tenth largest in the U.S.; current projections suggest an increase more than 685,000 people in the next 50 years.

How Jacksonville and the surrounding region will reconcile the demands on infrastructure and resources with the simultaneous need for an equitable economy and sustainable urbanism remains to be seen.  But there is no question about this location as an ideal setting for addressing some of the critical issues confronting the country today

A first pass at how we can adapt and thrive into the future is the focus of Resilient Jacksonville—a forward leaning plan that is a model of proactive research and integrated strategy—both hallmarks of the nationwide, Ten Across initiative. This is but one of the many points of reference that will help to place Jacksonville and its aspirations in a larger context.

Please join us for the 10X Summit in Jacksonville, March 5-7, 2025 to share insights, be inspired, and forge new collaborations and partnerships in a city where the future is taking shape now.

Ten Across summit programming includes pre-summit workshops, topical expert panel discussions, featured speakers, and a solutions exhibit gallery.

Summit Programming

At the eastern terminus of the Ten Across geography, Jacksonville is an essential lens through which to view critical national trends, opportunities, and challenges. The city’s Resilient Jacksonville plan, for example, presents a model for other metropolitan areas addressing a rapidly changing environment. The 10X Jacksonville Summit will highlight local successes and the work ahead through dynamic discussions that are of relevance to the surrounding region and the U.S.:

How is climate resilience developed in harmony with the demands of economic growth?

What roles should anchor institutions assume in creating prosperous communities?

How can we train and empower the workforce and leaders of tomorrow, today?

Is health a function of place?

How is national security intertwined with climate change?

Is the future insurable?

Session and speaker details coming soon!

Ten Across summits provide ample opportunities to network and make new strategic connections throughout the day and at evening receptions.

Gain new insights, expand your network and make strategic connections.

The critical challenges we work to address—water (too much/too little), extreme heat, energy transition and electrification, faltering infrastructure, and insurable risk—benefit greatly from collective wisdom and resolve to find the solutions we all seek.

Come to add your voice to the discussions, network, and discover new resources. Leave with new opportunities for collaboration and strategic partnerships. But don’t take our word for it…

Here is just a sample of what last summit’s attendees told us when we asked them what they liked most about our summits.

The problems discussed are THE interesting, intractable problems facing us today.

The program is amazing. The topics of discussion are current, important, and engaging and you have experts presenting and interacting with the audience. The attendees are passionate about solving complex issues that we are facing and they represent the groups who will be doing much of that important work. The summit is built in a way to encourage meeting others and building a network which can work together to improve the future.

The quality of the presenters was high. The smaller size of the conference allowed for more networking. The narrower focus allowed for a greater concentration and depth of ideas.

I met so many people that were working towards similar goals. I was able to get a much better idea of everything that is going on in the country regarding climate and infrastructure. The venues were easy to get to, the food was excellent, and the seminar and panelists were of great interest to me. I plan to come back for the summit in Florida next year.

The people in the room were keen on action and discussion and had critical and impactful roles. Loved how they were spread across sectors and geography too!

The eclectic mix of typically unconnected topics that are actually connected and relevant when looking to contribute to a resilient country and world. The provocative nature of the speakers – we need to be challenged, civilly discuss differing opinions, and still be colleagues. This is the dialogue paradigm at 10X.
