“I think the iceberg analogy is a good one for homelessness in the sense that you only see a small fraction of the iceberg above the water and the vast majority is not visible.”– Gregg Colburn
Homelessness affects every urban community in the country one way or another. Not only is it a hot button political issue, but it is also one of the most complex and intractable challenges we face as a modern society—not solvable by any single policy, group, or person. How did we get here and what can we do about it?
Listen in as Ten Across founder Duke Reiter discusses the issue with author and real estate professor Gregg Colburn. Gregg co-authored the recently published book Homelessness Is a Housing Problem: How Structural Factors Explain U.S. Patterns.
